July and August Checklist – Continued!
The Common Application Opens August 1.
The Common Application, or “Common App,” is an online college application accepted by over 900 colleges and universities.
- You can create your Common App login today.
- Make a list of your extracurricular activities. You can add up to ten to the application. Include those that tell colleges who you are, such as your skills, interests, athletics, clubs, employment, or leadership activities.
- Gather other important materials, including your junior year transcript, test scores, and academic honors and achievements.
- Complete the Common App tab first. It should take about 20 minutes.
- Add the colleges you will be applying to by using the College Search tab. Next week we will cover details about adding colleges to the Common App.
- You can begin completing the Common Application on August 1.
